Overview

This study, conducted by PLANAPP and DGAEP, seeks to carry out a comprehensive analysis of the organisation of working time in the Portuguese Central Direct and Indirect Public Administration (CA), divided into two phases. The first phase involves compiling detailed information on the organisation of working time in the CA and the perception of workers and managers about it, while the second phase will focus on carrying out a pilot study to test the implementation of the 4-day working week (S4D) in public entities.

Objectives

• To map the use of different regimes of organizing working time and ways of providing work in the CA.
• To report on the perception of workers and managers regarding the potential reduction of the working week to 4 days.
• To report on the feasibility and the implementation conditions of the 4-day working week.

Duration

The project will run from September 2022 to December 2024.
